Thank you to Yvette for her last post and introduction.
Who am I?
I am Tanya, parent of Corgan, almost 5 years old. He is profoundly deaf and is a bilateral Cochlear Implant user.
Well, firstly the most obvious change is the look of the website - I have tried to incorporate all the colours of the PDCS logo.
There have been some rearrangements of some of the old website stuff; change of layouts etc.
We now have loads of information, support and advice for members to access regarding hearing loss - have a look.
We also have loads of useful contact info for local hearing related services such Audiology in Plymouth, The WEHIP, SaLT etc as well non-hearing related contacts for a variety of concerns from abuse to employment, mental health and everything in-between - have a look.
There is also a page with links to other useful information about autism, challenging behaviour and more - have a look.
You can also find links to other hearing related organisations here.
We also have a page with links for decorating your ear gear - have a look - If you'd like to send us photos of your designs please do on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will start a gallery on the website to inspire others to decorate their ear gear!
You'll also finds a useful apps page with sign language apps, educational apps etc - I am still adding to these at the moment so watch this space!
We are also back on Twitter @Plymouth_DCS if you'd like to follow us!
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding the website please feel free to get in touch with me on email@example.com.
I am still busy changing and adding things so keep checking!
Thank you to the Audiology Department in Plymouth for their help with providing some useful information.
